The manuscript The Book of Chapters, Definitors, and other Acts of the Carmelites of the Old Regula of the Province of All Saints of Lithuania and Samogitia focuses on the period of 1766 to 1793. Carmelites of the Old Regula came to Lithuania in the beginning of the 16th century. At the time, they belonged to the Polish province. When it was divided into Russian and Polish provinces in 1687, the Lithuanian Carmelites became part of the Russian province. In 1756, the Russian province was divided into the provinces of Volhynia and Lithuania. Monasteries of the Carmelites of the Old Regula were located in Kėdainiai, Linkuva, Pumpėnai, Kražiai, Kolainiai, Tabariškės, and Vilnius. After the Uprisings of 1831 and 1863, all the monasteries were closed by the Russian government.
