The Banana Forest is also considered a decorative work of art by Stabrowski. The pastel records the impressions of an exotic journey, depicting graceful palm trees and its bright banana blossoms. On the one hand, it is like a brush-painted documentary of an exotic voyage, but the exotica also acquires a shade of mystical visions that push forward fantasy. A different perception of the world is formed with the perfectly executed colours that change with the lighting, the decorative sophistication of the blossoms, and the green contrast. The work of art was exhibited in Warsaw (1913), in Petrograd (1915) (present day St. Petersburg), and in Moscow in 1916.
