First and only edition of this broad and extensive history of Germany and connected territories from ancient times until the age of Maximilian II of Habsburg. The author describes in details migrations of people, languages, habits, religions, fortunes of wars. Several chapters are dedicated to neighbouring countries, such as for example Lithuania.
This work is scarce, since many sections of it underwent a rigorous censure and the book was included in the Index Librorum prohibitorum.

Historical Work Divided into Four Volumes by German jurist and historian Simon Schard (~1535–1573). The first volume is composed of commentaries of historical texts on ancient Germanic peoples by various authors. The second, third and fourth volumes describe the history of the Holy Roman Empire from Charles V (1519–1556) to Maximilian II (1564–1576). The book describes historical events in the 16th century in the empire and its neighbouring countries, including Lithuania.
