Public Law of the Polish Kingdom, a work by Polish legal historian Nicolaus Chwałkowski († after 1700) is dedicated to prince Jakub Sobieski (1667–1737), the son of the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania John Sobieski. This is the first edition, printed in Friedrich Risner’s (1642–1678) printing house.The Risner printing house was the largest printing house of the day in Königsberg, founded by Johan Risner (1598–1666). Later on it was owned by Friedrich Risner, then his widow Katarina Risner († 1720), and their descendants. The printing house operated in 16391746, had a bindery and bookshop, printed textbooks and scientific, religious, and other types of literature in German, Lithuanian, Polish, and Latin. Between 1653 and 1744, it published 89 books and small works in Lithuanian.
